Keep the Old

Keep the Old

Thinking of getting yourself a new car?

Hold that thought first.

According to the Car Care Council, taking better care of your current set of wheels may be a much better idea than buying a new car – that is, if you really want to cut down on your expenses. It estimates that more than $60 billion in vehicle maintenance and repair is not performed every year, evidence it says, that there is considerably more that consumers should be doing to protect their automotive investments.

Rich White, executive director of the Car Care Council explains: "Whether it's an oil change, replacing brakes or new belts and hoses, that periodic repair bill is a drop in the bucket compared to monthly payments on a new car. The bottom line is that a properly maintained vehicle is safe, more dependable, more fuel efficient, less polluting and more valuable. The smartest way to get a solid return on investment is to keep your car through what we call the 'Cinderella Era.' It's that period of time after the payoff when your car is still in great shape and needs only modest repairs."

Makes sense. Well if you’re beginning to think your Ford is getting old and boring, you can always give it a nice little facelift with add-ons here and there. A new set of Ford bumpers, or a Ford rear spoiler can add a little more excitement to your Ford’s appearance. You can always check out trusted online auto parts stores like Ford Parts Online for your choice of quality Ford parts for your car.

Afterall, that loving feeling shouldn’t have to disappear with age. Well, not if you can help it.
